The bio-probe is used to collect samples of bacteria in Oil and gas systems, including refineries, offshore platforms, pipelines, etc. Bacteria may be present in a system as either sessile or planktonic. The bio-probe has six sample elements, each with an exposed frontal area of 1cm2. Bio-probe is usually inserted in dead-leg locations where the biofilm formation is most likely to occur. Typically installation of the Bio- probe is bottom of line and flush installation. In cases where the dead-leg locations are not available, flow over the studs needs to be reduced using the fixed shield option available for this product.
